How to improve the performance of the VAIO computer using Task Manager in Windows 8?

    1. How to Launch the Task Manager
      1. Display the Charms menu by placing the cursor on the top right hand corner or bottom right hand corner.
      2. Select Search.
         
      3. Scroll to the right and select Task Manager.
      4. Select More details.
      5. Detailed information of system is now displayed.
         
    2. Improve the overall Performance of the PC using the Task Manager
      1. End the processes that take up the most Memory by following the steps below:
        1. Select the Processes tab.
        2. Right Click on Memory.
        3. Highlight Resource values.
        4. Highlight Memory.
        5. Select Percents.
          Note: This allows us to better understand which process is taking up the most memory in terms of percentage
        6. Click Memory so that the arrow is pointing down to display the process that takes up the most memory to be displayed on top.
        7. Select a process that takes up the highest memory.
        8. Right Click on the process and select End Task.
      2. End the processes that takes up the most CPU by following the steps below:
        1. Select the Processes tab.
        2. Right Click on CPU.
        3. Highlight Resource values.
        4. Highlight CPU.
        5. Select Percents.
          Note: This allows us to better understand which process is taking up the most memory in terms of percentage
        6. Click CPU so that the arrow is pointing down to display the process that takes up the most memory to be displayed on top.
        7. Select a process that takes up the highest CPU
        8. Right Click on the process and select End Task.
    3. Improve the Boot Performance using the Task Manager
      1. Select the Startup tab.
      2. Observe the Startup impact and locate which application has a High or Medium impact.
      3. Right Click on application and choose Disable.
        Note: This will prevent the application from starting up
      4. Warning: Please choose carefully before disabling the application. Some application may be important to startup during boot. User can enable applications if it is disabled.
