What is File History and how do I use it?

The File History feature within Windows 8 saves copies of your files so you can get them back if they’re lost or damage by backing it up to specific external storage device.

1. Launch Charms from the desktop by placing the cursor to the top right hand or bottom right hand corner.
    
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Control Panel.
   
4. Select File History.
   
5. Select Turn on.
    
6. User can adjust specific settings in the Advanced settings.
   
7. On the Advanced Settings, you can set when to save copies of files, set the size of offline cache, how to keep saved versions, create HomeGroup and view Event Logs.
